High Moisture Corn

Crop Cure protects high moisture processed corn from mold spoilage and costly losses.

High moisture corn is an excellent feed. It maintains a high feed value and doesn’t require expensive drying. But if high moisture corn isn’t fermented correctly, mold spore growth occurs which can lead to costly health problems for cows. Crop Cure limits mold spoilage.

Crop Cure® is only recommended for processed high moisture corn.

Desired Outcome for Ensiled Processed Shelled Corn:

  • Consistent protein levels of 8% or above
  • ADF levels between 3.5—5.0%
  • NDF levels between 10-13%
  • Net energy-lactation (Mcal/lb) 0.86 or above
  • Palatable, high-energy grain source

Harvest Recommendations

  • Harvest at full dent stage with kernel moisture between 27-29%
  • Roll or crack before ensiling
  • Use Crop Cure or Crop Cure 2

Desired Outcome for Ensiled Ground Ear Corn:

  • Consistent protein levels of 8% or above
  • ADF levels between 6-9 %
  • NDF levels between 24-28%
  • Net energy-lactation (Mcal/lb) 0.86 or above
  • Palatable high-energy grain source

Harvest Recommendations

  • Harvest at full dent stage with kernel moisture between 28-35% (corn/cob mix of 33-40%)
  • 80% of material under 1/4 inch grind
  • Use Crop Cure or Crop Cure 2

Investment Benefits

  • Increase in lactic acid, means a better fermentation, reduced mold spore growth, improved protein value and longer bunk life
  • Prevents costly cow problems associated with moldy feeds
  • Reduces dry matter loss up to 50%
  • Reduces mold and harmful bacteria by up to 66%
  • Treated corn has better bunk stability
  • Improved palatability, smell and feed efficiency

Use With All Different Storage Structures

  • Stave Silo
  • Bunker-Pit
  • Bags
  • Oxygen-limiting Silo
